Electronic pdf document. 2003. – 52 p.It is informative at this point to give some thought to the meaning of the word weapon. In quite general terms, weapon means combat equipment and serves as a collective designation for all means of defense or attack.
Weapons can be divided into two categories. One of the categories comprises the defensive or protective weapons. With the aid of these, the sensitive parts of the body are protected against attacks (e.g. protection vests, helmets, etc, and in earlier times the armour). The other category comprises the offensive weapons. These are used for the purpose of harming the attacker or opponent. They can be further subdivided into cutting, thrusting and stabbing weapons (so-called naked weapons) and projected weapons. Firing weapons do of course belong to the category of projected weapons.Content:
